We offer numerous avenues for those wishing to compete - whether that be for fun or for ranking points!
CourtX Singles Ladder
We are pleased to offer adult tennis members the opportunity to play friendly singles matches against other members through a club singles ladder.
The concept of this ladder allows you to join at any point, play as much or as little as you want and take a break or leave when required. It’s extremely flexible.
The ladder is accessed through a free app called Sportch (available on Android and IOS).
After signing up, you will be placed in dynamic zones of 5 within the overall ladder. Your starting position is based on how you self-assessed yourself during registration and your position will change as and when results are submitted.
How to join
- Download the free Sportch app from your app store.
- Open the app and tap Sign Up
- During registration ensure to select CourtX and opt to play in the club ladder
- You’re done and ready to play
The app allows you to easily contact opponents to arrange matches, record results and view rankings and results in real time. The ladder competition is very flexible and open to all adult members. It doesn’t matter what level you play at or how often you can play. This is a great way to meet and play with players of a similar standard, enjoy some friendly competition and (hopefully) improve your tennis!
You can pause your participation in the ladder at any time from within your account. If you’re unable to play for whatever reason please mark your profile as inactive.

Club Championships
Every year we run a club championships which is open to all CourtX tennis members. The tournament is made up of 5 draws including singles, doubles and mixed. The tournament takes place on the grass over the summer months. For further information please see our Club Champs page here.
P&D Doubles Leagues
We have over 10 CourtX doubles teams catering to different ages and standards. The matches are played against a number of teams from the local area as part of the Portsmouth and District Tennis League. Hampshire League
Similar to the P&D League above but on a county level. Ideal for those players who want to compete at a higher level but still in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Please contact us if you would like to get involved and we can put you in touch with the captains.
Tennis National League
We have recently added a men’s team in the tennis national league. A level above Hampshire League this is ideal for those who take part in tournaments regularly and want to represent their club. If you want to know more please send us an email here.
Grade 3-5 Tournaments
Active Academy, based in Bishop’s Waltham, often run singles and doubles tournaments at CourtX. These are always very well run and offer competitive play for a number of different age ranges and standards. For more information please visit their website here.
