Sara Willett - Artwork on View

This winter, we are very pleased to be exhibiting artwork by Artist, Sara Willett.

Sara Willett is a visual artist living and working in South East London, having recently returned from her third artist residency in China. Sara described how these residencies have undoubtedly influenced her work, especially the more recent ink work.

On view at CourtX we have six original artworks, three oil paintings on wood and three artworks in ink.

One of the things Sara find’s most compelling about painting is the slowing down of time, and how this temporal register can effect the work.

The process she has developed consists of both systematic repetition and conscious intuition, creating detailed, multi-layered surfaces – the outcome never fully predicted.

Repetition of form, as in the natural environment, creates complex growth patterns and rhythms, allowing the pictorial space to act as a platform for transformation and evolution.

We welcome you to view the artwork on the first floor of the pavilion, and to look out for the upcoming Q&A with Sara Willett that will be published on CourtX’s website.
